Description

In coastal Georgia, one in five children struggle with hunger.

On Saturday, January 21 from 9-11 a.m. to pack breakfast meals for local children. Due to the coronavirus, America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia has adapted their response to feeding children in our local area. At this time, children are receiving hot lunches delivered to neighbourhood pick up points around the Savannah area. At lunch pick up, children are also collecting a prepackaged breakfast meal for the next day. Volunteers will be working to package these breakfast meals to be delivered with lunches in the area.

Volunteers will meet at The Hive bus stop at 8:30 a.m. and be transported by SCAD Transportation to America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. The project will take place from 9-11 a.m. The task will allow everyone to maintain social distance and wear masks the entire time. It is encouraged that volunteers wear clothes they can bend, move, and lift in. Closed toe shoes are required, and SCAD shirts always create a unified appearance! The bus will return everyone to The Hive bus stop by 11:30 a.m.

The health and safety of our community is a top priority. Please do not register to participate if you have been exposed to Covid-19 or are experiencing any symptoms of illness.
