Join SCAD SERVE and Food Well Alliance at one of Atlanta’s community gardens on Friday, April 15 from 14 from 9am to 12 pm. Help care for the gardens and harvest produce grown to help feed local families in the Atlanta area.
Transportation to the community garden will be provided. Volunteers will meet at the Breezeway at 1600 Peachtree St. NW at 8:15 am. Please wear clothes that will allow you to get dirty, and also to protect you from the natural environment we will be working in. We will be working in gardens and in community with active bee hives. THIS EVENT MAY INCLUDE OR TAKE PLACE NEAR LIVE BEES, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS FACT IF YOU HAVE ANY BEE ALLERGIES. Prepare for working in the sun as well, a hat will be helpful for sun protection. Shirts with sleeves and pants that allow for bending, sitting, and moving is helpful. Wearing a shirt with SCAD on it is helpful for pictures and to create a unified look. Please plan to wear closed toe shoes for your protection. Volunteers should also bring a reusable water bottle to refresh themselves. The bus will return volunteers to the Breezeway by 12:30 pm.
