Volunteer with SCAD SERVE every Wednesday morning from 9:45 am to 11 am helping Emmaus House distribute clothing to our neighbors in need. Emmaus House believes in the dignity of all persons, providing warm meals, hot showers, and fresh laundry services to anyone who visits their door. Now, SCAD SERVE has an opportunity to help distribute clothing to individuals who request clothing they do not already have.
Volunteers will meet at 18 Abercorn St. at 9:30 am, prior to the 9:45 am shift to meet Charlie Barron, SCAD SERVE Fellow and become familiar with the clothing distribution process. The clothing closet is stored on the third floor of an historic building and therefore it is recommended volunteers wear comfortable shoes to move and walk in, as well as SCAD SERVE t-shirts or other SCAD apparel. Shorts or pants you can move, bend, and lift in is recommended and remember to bring your own reusable water bottle.
To help protect the community, all volunteers must be in good health and follow SCAD's current COVID-19 safety plan. Please bring a mask with you in case the site requires it.
