SCAD SERVE and Residence Life and Housing needs enthusiastic volunteers to help monitor the donation sites and supply drives located all around campus. Residence halls and selected academic buildings are designated collection sites for the following supply drives.
Residence Halls:
Buzz Bus- gently used art supplies and school supplies for K-12 students
Goodwill Pods- gently used personal items, including books, clothing, electronics, kitchen wares, room décor and most other items in your room. Goodwill is not able to accept bedding materials.
Union Mission- new and used cleaning supplies will be collected and donated to the local homeless shelter. Items such as brooms, dish soap, cleaning products, Clorox wipes, laundry detergent, and other miscellaneous cleaning products can be placed in the plastic donation boxes. Be sure lids are tightly sealed.
America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia- A collection of unopened, non-perishable food to be donated to our local food bank
Academic Buildings:
Buzz Bus- gently used art supplies and school supplies for K-12 students
Volunteers will move from location to location to review donation bin collections, sort out unnecessary or incorrect donations, and help organize the pick up of supplies at specific locations.
Please plan to wear closed toe shoes and clothing you can move, bend, lift, and stand in. This project involves a lot of movement and the potential to lift and move weight up to 25 pounds.
After registering, contact Lauren Slaydon, LSlaydon@scad.edu to discuss location assignments and shift details.
