Volunteer to create tiny felt sweaters for babies spending the holidays in the NICU and wrap books for their families. To celebrate the holiday season, March of Dimes at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center will be distributing these sweaters to families to place on top of their babies for photo opportunities and providing wrap books as gifts to the families. This is a new and special way for families to celebrate with their babies in a safe and festive way!

All volunteers must register in advance to collect a sweater and book wrapping packet. The packet will include felt, a sweater pattern, and additional decorating supplies all included in a zip-lock bag. Instructions, as well as a "Do's and Don'ts" informational sheet for decorating the sweaters, will be provided.  It will be helpful for volunteers to have access to their own scissors and a hot glue gun, as this is the best way to firmly secure decorative features to the felt.

Sweater packets will be available on December 3 for pick up from the second level entrance of the parking garage in the SCAD Atlanta main campus at 1600 Peachtree St. NW, Atlanta. Please Sign out your packet on the provided roster. 

Volunteers are encouraged to use all of their creativity when designing sweaters while adhering to the design safety recommendations provided by March of Dimes. Volunteers are welcome to add additional design features or decorations not included in the supply pack. 

All sweater packets must be returned to the second level entrance of the parking garage in the SCAD Atlanta main campus by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10. 

At that time, the sweaters will be collected and delivered all together to Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center on Friday, December 11 to begin a strict quarantine period before they are distributed to families.
