DESCRIPTION: SCAD SERVE is partnering with Academic Services Administration, the American Photographic Artists (APA) Atlanta chapter, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) for the annual APA Holiday Portrait Shoot. Now in its third year at SCAD Atlanta, this signature community event provides free professional photo sessions and holiday-themed portraits for children fighting brain tumors and their families, creating lasting memories during a challenging time.

Professional photographers, stylists, and production crews volunteer their time and expertise to transform SCAD Atlanta into a full-service photo studio, complete with holiday sets, hair and makeup stations, and professional photography equipment. This initiative brings joy, hope, and cherished family portraits to brave children and their families, offering a moment of normalcy and celebration during the holiday season.

Volunteer Positions Available (Assigned as Needed):

  • Guest Flow & Directional Support: Welcome families, guide them through event spaces, and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience.
  • Green Room / Staging Area Support: Assist with preparing families for their sessions, managing wait areas, and coordinating with photographers and stylists. Help with setup, breakdown, and various operational needs as they arise to keep the event running seamlessly.
  • Catering & Hospitality Station Management: Maintain and replenish refreshment stations, ensuring families and volunteers are comfortable throughout the day.

All volunteers must wear appropriate clothing to participate. This includes closed-toed shoes,  T-shirts, and pants or shorts that allow for bending, moving, lifting, and a strong potential for getting dirty.
