The Adopt-A-Meal program provides a much-needed support service to families who are taking care of their sick children, and often don’t have the time, funds, or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal. After a long day at the hospital or clinic, a hot meal is a welcome gift. SCAD SERVE volunteers will cook and serve a buffet style lunch to families staying at Ronald McDonald House. Gloves must be worn during meal preparation (provided by the House).
Lunch will be served at 11:30 am. We will wrap up between 11-11:30 am.
Attire: Please wear a SCAD SERVE branded shirt, black pants, and comfortable shoes with your hair tied back. Email SERVE Fellow Casey at jeruss20@student.scad.edu if you need a shirt.
Transportation: SCAD transportation will be provided. The bus will pick up from the Turner bus stop at 9 am and take students back to campus at 11:30 am. You are welcome to drive yourself in your vehicle.
Address: 4710 Waters Avenue, Savannah, GA 31404 (near Chandler Hospital)
If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay at home in order to avoid contamination. Children with weakened immune systems are more subject to infections brought on by disease-causing bacteria that contaminate food.
