The Adopt-A-Meal program provides a much-needed support service to families who are taking care of their sick children, and often don’t have the time, funds, or energy to prepare a healthy, home-cooked meal. After a long day at the hospital or clinic, a hot meal is a welcome gift. SCAD SERVE volunteers will cook and serve a buffet style dinner to families staying at Ronald McDonald House. Masks and gloves must be worn during meal preparation (provided by the House).
Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm.
Attire: Please wear a SCAD SERVE branded shirt, black pants, and comfortable shoes with your hair tied back. Email Assistant Director Maggie Sorel at msorel@scad.edu to pick up your shirt at Bradley Hall between the hours of 9 am to 5:30 pm, M-F.
Transportation: SCAD transportation will be provided. The bus will pick up from the Hive parking lot at 3:30 pm and take students back to campus at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to drive yourself in your vehicle.
If you are feeling sick or unwell, please stay at home in order to avoid contamination. Children with weakened immune systems are more subject to infections brought on by disease-causing bacteria that contaminate food.
