Description
Take a break from finals and volunteer with SCAD SERVE on Saturday morning, November 11th, from 9am to 11am helping Savannah Tree Foundation give back to the environment by planting trees. Trees deliver more benefits to people when they are located near people. That’s why Savannah Tree foundation practices community forestry: they collaborate with members of the community to plant and care for trees in their neighborhoods. Savannah Tree Foundation has been planting trees for over 40 years planting hundreds of trees every year and are still counting. Now, SCAD SERVE has an opportunity to help contribute to the environment and keep the tree count growing!
Transportation
Transportation will be provided for this event. Shuttle will depart from BE FIT @ The Hive at 8:30 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m. Please be at least 10 minutes early for your shuttle.
Please wear closed-toe shoes for your safety and protection. We encourage volunteers to prepare themselves for working outside. Bring a reusable water bottle, apply sunscreen, and wear a hat to help protect yourself from sun exposure. All volunteers must be in good health to participate. Your well-being and the wellness of our community is important to us.
Please contact SCAD SERVE Fellow Darcy Kelley (dkelle24@student.scad.edu) if you:
