SCAD SERVE aims to design, present, and produce hands-on extended learning workshops where SCAD SERVE Alumni Ambassadors guide students on how to improve community well-being through the planning and creation of community-based outdoor murals in our hometowns of Atlanta and Savannah.
Upon graduation from SCAD, Joseph Veazey (B.F.A., graphic design, 2009), was the Senior Designer for Adult Swim prior to starting his own design firm, Creative Library. His work has been selected for the Print Magazine Regional Design Annual, American Illustration, Society of Illustrators (3x Gold Medal), Graphis Poster Annual, Communication Arts Design Annual and more, as well as appearing in multiple national and international design books and magazines. Prints he has designed in collaboration with Azede Jean-Pierre have been showcased by Elle, WWD, Glamour, Essence, InStyle and Paper Magazine, and have been worn by Solange, Lady Gaga, Gillian Jacobs, and others.
Help Joe transform the pavement at Adair Park II (866 Murphy Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30310) by registering for one or multiple shifts to apply paint and transform this environment. No painting experience is required, all skill levels are welcome to help!

Transportation will be provided daily for each shift. Please be at least 10 minutes early for your shuttle. Volunteers may use other transportation to reach the mural location, too.
- A morning shuttle will depart from the breezeway at 1600 Peachtree St at 7:30 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m.
- An afternoon shuttle will depart from 1600 Peachtree at 11:30 a.m. and return by and 3:30 p.m
We will provide everyone a SCAD SERVE t-shirt on site. Please wear closed toe shoes for your safety and protection. We encourage volunteers to prepare themselves for working outside. Bring a reusable water bottle, apply sunscreen, and wear a hat to help protect yourself from sun exposure. All volunteers must be in good health to participate. Your well-being and the wellness of our community is important to us.
Please contact Assistant Director of SCAD SERVE Nick Libretti (Nlibrett@SCAD.edu) if you:
- can no longer volunteer due to symptoms of illness or exposure to COVID-19 (seek medical attention)
