Event Description
In Spring and Summer 2022, Design for Good students researched, compiled data, and developed opportunities for the Savannah Tree Foundation that support Savannah’s journey to tree canopy equity.
- Their investigation determined that a healthy tree population impacts several environmental factors including stormwater interception, air pollution, carbon dioxide, and electricity conservation.
- Research showed that the trees of today’s urban forest do not serve all of Savannah.
- Findings determined that West Savannah is disproportionately impacted by lesser tree canopies when compared to high-wealth neighborhood such as Ardsley Park.
