Donation Organization at Emmaus House Clothing Closet (SAVANNAH)

Expired

Description

Volunteer with SCAD SERVE every Tuesday morning from 9 am to 10 am helping Emmaus House distribute clothing to our neighbors in need. Emmaus House believes in the dignity of all persons, providing warm meals, hot showers, and fresh laundry services to anyone who visits their door. Now, SCAD SERVE has an opportunity to help organize the donations of clothing to individuals who need it most.

Volunteers will meet at 18 Abercorn St. at 8:50 am, prior to the 9 am shift to meet Sophia Lee, SCAD SERVE Fellow and become familiar with the clothing organization process. The clothing closet is stored on the third floor of a historic building and therefore it is recommended volunteers wear comfortable shoes to move and walk-in, as well as SCAD SERVE t-shirts or other SCAD apparel. Shorts or pants you can move, bend, and lift in is recommended, and remember to bring your own reusable water bottle.

While SCAD's mask policies have changed in accordance with the CDC, please be aware of the off-site policies of our volunteer sites and err on the side of caution, continuing to use masks on their site as required. SCAD SERVE is following to help protect the community and others, all volunteers must be in good health and pass daily health checks. We frequently serve some of the most vulnerable populations and will continue to work together with our friends at nonprofit agencies to care for them in the best way possible, including masking up and avoiding participation if anyone is ill.
