Join Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia and SCAD SERVE to make a difference in the community and the fight against hunger! Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia partners with over 298 nonprofit agencies to serve Georgia’s 21 coastal counties. These agencies provide food assistance, hot meals, and groceries for hundreds of thousands of individuals throughout coastal Georgia. We will be sorting, organizing, and stocking non-perishable items at the volunteer center. A tour of new facility will follow the shift.
Attire: Please wear a SCAD SERVE shirt. If you don't have one, we will bring it to the event for you. Please email SCAD SERVE Fellow Joli at jreyes28@student.scad.edu if you need a shirt. NO open toe shoes (i.e.: flop flops, sandals or clogs) allowed at any time. Please dress appropriately to work in a warehouse and according to the weather (inside / outside). Volunteers are welcome to wear ball caps or we provide hair nets. Please wear hair back away from face.
Physical activity level: We welcome volunteers with all abilities and if you need to request an ADA related reasonable accommodation for your volunteer shift or would like to learn more about the activity levels for specific opportunities, please contact Casey Nash at America's Second Harvest by email: cnash@helpendhunger.org for more details.
Transportation: SCAD buses will pick up at 8:30 am at the Turner Bus stop and drop off after the event. Please check in with a SCAD SERVE fellow when you arrive. You are welcome to drive yourself in your personal vehicle.
Deadline to sign up is Thursday, 10/30. If you're unable to make your shift, please cancel your registration 48 hours in advance as spots are limited.
