Who We Are

Urban Hope is a grass roots, local, non profit committed to instilling hope in the inner city children of Savannah and empowering them to seek change in their lives and in their community.

We are a group of dedicated individuals that believe that underprivileged children in our community deserve education, safety, and love every day. We also believe that these children should be expected to demonstrate love and respect for self and others regardless of their income level or what area of the city they live in.

What We Do

Urban Hope conducts a free after school program and free summer camp for inner city and at risk children in grades K-8th. They are transported from school to the program and home each week day. They are given a nutritious meal each day, provided by the Kids Cafe. Daily tutoring is the top priority in the after school program, giving the children the tools they need to excel in their education.

The summer camp is focused more on fun, with weekly field trips and movie outings. We have 85 campers each day and these campers are able to participate in fine arts instruction, dance, music and sewing. Focus is also given to combating summer learning loss with daily educational classes for each grade level.
